Peres aims for South Africa notwithstanding threats

Former President Shimon Peres was scheduled to leave for South Africa early on Thursday, notwithstanding threats by the Muslim Lawyers Association to have him arrested and prosecuted for war crimes.

Earlier in the day, Peres said that Israel is a just nation and that no threat of BDS, arrest or any other attempt to hinder his visit would stop him.

He will participate in a salute to Israel by the South African Jewish community, whom he is due to address on Sunday evening.
