Likud's campaign videos have been markedly successful thus far, and the newest one – Pizza Buji, a play on the nickname of Labor head Yitzhak Herzog – appears set to break its predecessors' records, with close to 500,000 views in just 12 hours.
It tells the tale of a young bachelor who orders pizza as he sits down at home to watch a soccer game. Alas, when the pizza arrives, he learns that it comes with an order of Tzipi Livni on the side. The man protests that he would have much more use for garlic bread, but the delivery boy will not hear of it.
The skit is a mocking reference to the fact that Livni is perceived as a liability to the campaign for Labor under Yitzhak “Buji” Herzog. The politician, who has switched parties at a rate that is rare even in Israel, appears to be very unpopular outside of feminist circles, and the Herzog campaign is doing its best to keep her out of the spotlight.
