Former police commander Supt. Eran Malka was convicted on Wednesday of bribery and other charges by the Jerusalem District Court as part of a plea bargain in which he has turned state’s witness against an even higher police commander.
The higher commander and latest sensational suspect to join the ranks of top law enforcement officials likely to fall in the massive bribery scandal was named on Wednesday as former Central Police Commander Asst.-Ch. Bruno Stein.
Malka is already likely to serve years of prison time as his deal only reportedly protects his family’s money and pension benefits.
