Uri Ariel, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, who is also in charge of the Authority for the Regularization of Bedouin Villages in the Negev, together with members of the forum of Bedouin local authorities, met with President Reuven Rivlin on Monday at the President’s Residence.
Ariel is taking his mission to find solutions for Bedouin settlement and community services very seriously. Soon after his appointment, he toured Bedouin settlements in the Negev to learn first hand about the problems of the Bedouin population and what their priorities are. “We’re not doing any favors for Bedouin citizens,” he told Rivlin. “We’re working towards giving Bedouin citizens what is rightfully theirs.”
