Rebels shell Syria’s Aleppo killing 10, wounding dozens

BEIRUT – Syrian rebels shelled a government-held neighborhood Monday in the northern city of Aleppo killing at least 10 people and wounding dozens, state media and an activist group said.

State TV said the shelling hit the area of Rahman Mosque in contested Aleppo, Syria’s largest city and former commercial center, killing 11 people and wounding more than 100, including 30 children. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said “dozens of shells” hit several neighborhoods in the city, killing 10 and wounding about 60. The group said some people are still missing and the death toll could rise.
