Minister of Culture and Sport Miri Regev (Likud) congratulated Minister Danny Danon on his appointment as Israel's UN Ambassador Friday.
She added that she intends to vie for the position of Chairperson of the Likud Central Committee instead of Danon.
The popular Regev added: “I am certain that, with the Central Committee members and Likud activists, I will work to make sure that Likud remains the largest movement, a movement that maintains contact with the activists and Central Committee members.”
"Our mission is to maintain Likud as a national and social movement, which takes care of the security interests and settlement interests of the state of Israel,” she added, “whose capital is Jerusalem, for ever and ever.”
"I would like to thank all the friends who have been calling me from the early morning hours in order to ask me to compete for the role.
"I request the assistance of all the friends in my bid for the position and I am certain that together, we will strengthen the Likud and the status of Central Committee members,” she added.
