Report: Israel failing to address socio-economic disparities

State Comptroller Joseph Shapira on Tuesday filed his annual report, returning to his more traditional and less headline-grabbing focus on socio-economic disparities, severe problems in the health sector and public corruption following a series of recent bombshell reports in the heart of the March elections and last year’s harsh annual report on the state’s treatment of migrants.

Shapira presented the report to Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein at 2:00 p.m.

In the report, he wrote that he “gives great importance to the subject of the defense of human rights” which includes “the socio-economic rights of society’s weaker sectors.”
