NYC Council Candidate Yoni Hikind (Brooklyn) has picked up the endorsement of former NYS Governor George Pataki, Senator Al D’Amato and Congressman Bob Turner. All three elected officials are prominent Republicans who enjoyed and maintained excellent working relationships with the Jewish community, especially traditional, Orthodox Jews.
“I’ve known Yoni since he was a child,” said Governor Pataki. “He displays the solid values that he was raised with. Yoni Hikind is caring, professional and more than likable—in short, he has the tools to make an outstanding City Councilman.”
“Yoni Hikind has the vision, values and fighting spirit that one should expect from their elected official,” said Senator D’Amato. “Let there be no question: He is the best man for the job.”
“The City Council District will be proud to have a fighter like Yoni Hikind representing them,” said Congressman Turner. “I’ve known Yoni for many years and I’m thrilled that he is taking this step. He was born for this job.”
“Because of the way things were manipulated by the current sitting Councilman, Yoni Hikind entered the race too late to get on the Republican or Democratic lines,” said a local Republican representative. But Yoni Hikind is certainly someone who Republicans and those with conservative and real family values support.”
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of such great elected officials as Governor George Pataki, Senator Al D’Amato and Congressman Bob Turner,” said Yoni. “I look forward to bringing the 44th City Council District representation that reflects the real values and needs of our community.”
