Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked on Tuesday continued the fireworks of politicians jumping into the controversy over whether doctors should force-feed hunger striking Palestinian security prisoners following a flurry of legislative activity and pronouncements by politicians Sunday and Monday.
Shaked told Army Radio that “if one doctor does not want to do this, we will not force this upon any doctor. Also, in the law, doctors are not obligated to do this. We need to find a doctor who is ready to do this.”
In contrast, Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman said Monday that he does not support force feeding prisoners and it is their decision whether or not to eat.
