Shin Bet foils stabbing attack in Silwan, near Jerusalem

It was cleared for publication Thursday that the Shin Bet and Israel Police foiled a stabbing attack planned against security guards working at the Italian synagogue named after Rabbi Ovadia Bertinoro in the village of Silwan, outside of the Old City of Jerusalem.

The plan was revealed during a mission to expose a cell aiming to carry out attacks against Israeli police and civilians.

As part of the investigation, several people were arrrested in Silwan, including a member of the Popular Front and a teenager.
