Shin Bet: Jaffa man arrested after throwing stun grenade at yeshiva

Israel’s Security Agency (Shin Bet) said they arrested a man accused of throwing a stun grenade at a Hesder yeshiva in the city of Jaffa earlier this month.

Details of the investigation were under a gag order until Israel’s military censor released the findings of the investigation for the first time Thursday, stating they had arrested the suspect on September 8.

Hafez Cundus, an Arab resident of Jaffa who served a 28-year prison sentence before being released in 2012, admitted during interrogation on September 1 to throwing the explosive device at the school, which is specifically designated for religious-Zionist youth that combines yeshiva study along with IDF preparation courses.
