State Comptroller’s housing report released

State Comptroller Yosef Shapira released a damning report Wednesday outlying the various causes of the current housing crisis, which has seen prices for homes sky-rocket.  Within the report, Shapira describes a long list of deficiencies and delays in recent years which led to the sharp surge in housing prices. According to the report, the Prime Minister’s Office did not identify the dangerous trend in time and, in the meanwhile, a shortage of tens of thousands of apartments emerged. Furthermore, decisions to reverse the price increases remained mostly on paper.
