State indicts Palestinian for arson attack on Jerusalem events center

The Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office on Sunday filed an indictment against Mohanid Kawasme with the Jerusalem District Court for the August 9 arson attack against the VIEW events center in the Talpiot neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Kawasme, 27 of Hebron, was charged with arson, resisting arrest, entering Israel illegally, impersonating someone else and forging documents.

According to the indictment, Kawasme ignited a fire on an oil tank area being used for storage next to the VIEW events center on August 9 in order to take revenge for having been fired as one of the center’s employees approximately three months earlier.
