Jews who ascended to the Temple Mount Monday heard an unfamiliar sound – the sound of quiet.
The Jews reported that for an unknown reason, the “murabitat” – the Muslim women who are always in hand to assault Jews visiting the Mount, screaming and cursing and throwing objects at them – were not present.
In recent weeks, there has been an escalation in Muslim violence against Jews at the Mount. Last week, an olah hadasha – a new Jewish immigrant to Israel – was physically assaulted by the murabitat.
A group of activists for the right of Jews to ascend the Temple Mount said that the Mount opened late to Jews on Sunday morning. When the Jews were finally allowed in, “The groups of Jews were again surrounded by dozens of Arab men and women who screamed and incited nonstop against the Jews, while gesturing menacingly and issuing threats.”
Tourists were allowed in from an earlier hour Sunday and were not molested.
