Suicide attacks kill at least 12 Iraqi troops near Ramadi

Iraqi officials say back-to-back suicide attacks targeting security forces near the Islamic State-held city of Ramadi have killed at least 12 troops. The two officials — one with the Iraqi army, the other with the country’s elite counterterrorism forces — say the suicide bombers rammed explosives-laden Humvees into forces deployed outside of the University of Ramadi complex on Wednesday morning. They say eight troops were wounded in the assault. Both spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to reporters.
