Supreme Court approves destroying 2 knife terrorists’ homes

The Supreme Court has given permission to destroy the homes of two terrorists who carried out stabbing attacks about six months ago.

The attacks took place near Jaffa Gate, in Jerusalem's Old City. They killed Reuven Biermacher, while Ofer Ben-Ari was accidentally killed when security forces opened fire on the terrorists.

Justices Hanan Meltzer, Uri Shoham and Anat Baruch rejected appeals from the terrorists' families. Instead, they declared that there is no substance to the families' claims that killing terrorists is enough of a deterrent and that there is no need for house destructions.

The justices further ruled that merely sealing up the houses without destroying them would not be enough of a deterrent.
