Top National Security Council official named in corruption probe

Former National Security Council official, Avriel Bar-Yosef, who was chosen by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to lead the NSC, is suspected of using his government position to promote personal interests. 

Police suspect Bar-Yosef of conspiring with a German national to promote business interests. Officers detained and questioned Bar-Yosef, 61, and another suspect on Tuesday after which they were released on house arrest. Bar-Yosef’s name was under gag-order until Thursday, while the other suspect’s name is still under gag-order.
