Top State attorney: Probe of former head Tel Aviv state prosecutor is ‘without precedent’

Top State Attorney Shai Nitzan on Thursday told the hundreds of lawyers in the state prosecutor’s office nationwide that the criminal investigation into former head Tel Aviv state prosecutor Ruth David is “without precedent.”

Nitzan continued that, “I am aware that among many of us this has severely shaken us.”

The country’s top prosecutor was referring to Wednesday’s announcement of David’s arrest on charges of obstruction of justice in a wide-reaching corruption case that has been described as an “earthquake” for Israeli law enforcement.
