Turkey’s first ambassador to Israel since ‘Mavi Marmara’ takes office

Turkey’s new Ambassador to Israel, Kemal Okem, presented his credentials Monday to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, thus officially starting his tenure.

Okem was the first Turkish ambassador in Israel to be appointed since the aftermath of the Mavi Marmara events in 2010, which resulted in a six-year diplomatic crisis between the two countries.
