Two soldiers wounded in shooting attack in Binyamin region

Two IDF soldiers were wounded on Friday night (Israel time) in a shooting attack on a military checkpoint on Route 443, near Beit Horon in the Binyamin region.

Initial reports say a Palestinian Arab terrorist arrived at the checkpoint and opened fire from his vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The soldiers were lightly injured and were taken to the Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem for treatment.

Security forces are searching for the terrorist.

Earlier on Friday, a 29-year-old haredi man was attacked by an Arab terrorist at the Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, suffering stab wounds to the upper body.

The victim, who was lightly wounded, was given first aid treatment by Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics, and evacuated to hospital.

Also on Friday, an Arab terrorist threw an explosive at an Israeli car that was driving near Otniel in the southern Hevron hills region of Judea.

The masked terrorist waited by the road and threw the improvised pipe bomb, which exploded just a second after a female Israeli motorist drove by.

Fortunately the driver was unharmed, although her car was lightly damaged by the bomb.
