The UK's Labour Party has given a local executive committee position to one of its members, even though she was suspended for her anti-Semitic statements in 2014.
Vicki Kirby, the new vice-chair for the town of Woking, has tweet a number of offensive statements and conspiracy theories over an extended period of time. She called Hitler a "Zionist god" and claimed, "We invented Israel when saving them from Hitler, who now seems to be their teacher."
On other occasions she wrote, "What do you know abt [sic] Jews? They've got big noses and support Spurs lol," and asked why ISIS hasn't attacked "the real oppressors," i.e. Israel.
A spokesperson for the Labour Party told International Business Times that they investigated Kirby and let her off with a warning. "If new evidence comes to light, the Labour Party will review that evidence and make sure the rules of the Party are upheld," he added.
The Party has received growing criticism recently over accusations of systemic anti-Semitism. The party has already announced that it will investigate claims of anti-Semitism in its society at Oxford University, whose members allegedly mocked Jewish terror victims.
