Violent altercation breaks out in Kafr Manda; 2 injured, 23 arrested

A violent altercation broke out overnight Wednesday in Kafr Manda in the lower Galilee over the upcoming elections for the head of the regional council, set to take place next week. Two people were light-to-moderately injured and 23 others were arrested when dozens of the town’s residents started attacking one another, throwing stones, launching firecrackers and setting fire to trash containers. Large police forces dispersed the fight and remained in the town to keep the peace. The altercation caused great damage to property and public areas in the town.
