WATCH: Ayelet Shaked says boycotting Israel should be illegal

Just before the March 17 election, MK Ayelet Shaked – the woman who will this week become Israel’s justice minister – visited the Haaretz.com studio to answer our questions.

Despite her comments about the BDS movement ("It’s 21st century anti-Semitism") and her opposition to the two-state solution, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was none-too-keen to appoint her to such a lofty position. But, desperate to sign a coalition deal with Habayit Hayehudi, Netanyahu overcame his aversion – and, according to Haaretz’s Yossi Verter, his wife’s opposition  – and offered her the job.
