Watch: Knesset Storm as Leftists, Nationalists Clash

The 20th Knesset has only just got underway, and already it's seen its share of drama.

On Tuesday, freshman MK Sharon Gal (Yisrael Beytenu) was escorted out of the Knesset plenum, during an angry confrontation with MKs from the far-left Meretz party.

Meretz MKs provoked an angry response, after reading out alleged testimonies from soldiers given to the extreme-left NGO "Breaking the Silence," alleging that the IDF committed war crimes during last summer's war with terrorists in Gaza.

Breaking the Silence is controversial given that it is almost entirely funded by foreign governments and individuals to attack Israel internationally with anonymous and unsubstantiated "testimonies". It has even been accused of fabricating testimonies in the past.

MK Gal was removed by Knesset ushers after ignoring three calls to order for shouting down the Meretz MKs, branding them "a bunch of collaborators!" and continuing to heckle them with shouts of "You are criminals! Shame on you!"

MK Dov Khenin of the radical Arab Joint List party unsurprisingly rushed to the Meretz MKs' defense, praising their actions and calling on other MKs to read the document produced by Breaking the Silence. "Refusing to hear doesn't change the reality," he said.

Likud MK Oren Hazan responded angrily to the conduct of Meretz MKs.

"When I hear the Members of Knesset here I suddenly I get confused (and think that) I'm in the Palestinian Authority Parliament," he said.

"When we stood here on March 31 and said 'I swear', I was referring to the State of Israel and also the soldiers of the IDF," he added, referring to the Knesset swearing-in ceremony.

"The contempt with which you allow yourselves to sleep soundly at night while our brothers are risking their lives for you, I will not allow this to pass in silence."

"MK Galon I am embarrassed of you," he added, speaking to Meretz leader Zehava Galon who read out the document.
