Watch: Nationalists Inaugurate Fund for the Redemption of Israel

Nationalists gathered in Jerusalem earlier this week to launch a new “nationalist fund for the building of the land of Israel”, a new fund for the redemption of land in Judea, Samaria, the Negev and the Galilee.

The initiative is spearheaded by the Nachala Land of Israel movement, headed by Daniella Weiss, and is being modeled after the “blue box”, the Jewish National Fund’s blue charity collection boxes.

Speakers at the event, which was held at the Ganei Yerushalayim Hotel, included Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz, Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel, Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan, and other Knesset members and municipal leaders.

“The idea of the national fund for the building of Eretz Yisrael was reborn after the last elections, when we realized that every Jew has a ‘hot point’ in his heart for the land of Israel,” Weiss explained in a conversation with Arutz Sheva. “So we thought that the best way to translate this connection between the heart of every Jew and the land itself is to give a little box, like the JNF’s blue box, so that every Jew will be able to contribute for land redemption.”

“Our plan for the future is that we’ll be able to redeem all the property, all the land of Judea and Samaria,” she explained. “Our goal is to redeem two million dunams of land for more Jewish settlement and for enlarging and expanding the existing 250 Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.”

The evening this week was the formal inauguration of the fund, said Weiss.

“It was a very successful evening and we got many contributions, and it’ll become bigger and bigger, and stronger and stronger,” she continued.

“The first stage will be 20,000 boxes, then 50,000, then 100,000, and then in every Jewish home there will be a box, where little children as well as grownups will put their charity for redeeming land in the land of Israel,” explained Weiss.

“My opinion is that we have to clarify that the land of Israel belongs only to the people of Israel, and [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu has to cease with the freezing policy and move to a policy of enhancing and further developing the Jewish communities,” she added.
