Yaalon to Injured Soldiers: We’re Here For You

In advance of the Jewish New Year, Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon visited injured IDF troops – to wish them a good New Year, and to thank them for their service.

Among the soldiers Yaalon visited at the Tel Hashomer Medical Center near Tel Aviv was Ohad Ben Yishai, who was injured in last year's Operation Protective Edge, and “Captain Y,” who was injured in fighting against terrorists in Judea and Samaria as part of his elite Egoz anti-terror unit.

In addition, Yaalon visited IDF soldiers Yuval Appel and Yarin Ashkenazi, who were wounded in a vehicular terror attack in August at the Sinjil junction in Samaria (near Shiloh).

Yaalon told soldiers and their families that he realized that they were frustrated and anxious to leave the hospital, but that “patience is important. We have to let time, and your doctors, heal your wounds. You are in good hands. I wish you a New Year that will bring positive news and an improvement in your conditions.

“I get a sense of powerful wills and spirits among you,” Yaalon added, addressing the soldiers. “We want to encourage you and show our love for you. I say this not only in my name, but in the name of the entire Israeli nation. We are here for you.”
